OMS Dance Team Accomplishments & Milestones

The Oxford Middle School Dance Team placed 1st in the Jr. High Pom Division (out of 11 teams) and 3rd in the Jr. High Game Day Division (out of 9 teams) at the MHSAA Dance Championship! This marks the first time in OMS Dance History that our team has won a State Championship in Pom! 

OMS Dance at MS Dance Challenge in 2025

The Oxford Middle School Dance Team attended the UDA MS Dance Challenge in Brandon, MS. We received some valuable feedback as we performed our two routines for the judges. We took home 1st place in the JH Pom division (out of 7 teams) and 3rd place in the JH Game Day division (out of 9 teams).

OMS Dance Team at Mid South Regional in 2025

The Oxford Middle School Dance Team attended the UDA Mid-South Regional Dance Competition in Memphis, TN. We received some valuable feedback as we performed our two routines for the judges. We took home 2nd place in the JH Pom division (out of 5 teams) and 4th place in the JH Game Day division (out of 5 teams).

OMS Dance Team UDA Camp May 2025

The Oxford Middle School Dance Team attended an Universal Dance Association (UDA) Home Camp in May 2025. At this camp, dancers spend three days learning new skills, improving technique, growing as a team, and learning new routines in various styles to perform on the last day of camp. The Chargers brought home hardware in several categories:

  • 54 Blue Superior Ribbons for A, B, and C Routines
  • Superior Trophy
  • 10 All-Americans – Finley May, Iris, Lyla, Lynnlee, Mary Rhodes, Michelle, Perchelle, Rebecca, Rylyn, and Siobhan were invited to participate in Disney's Thanksgiving Parade in Orlando, FL
  • Drill Down Queen - Southerlin
  • A bid to UDA Nationals

The Oxford Middle School Dance Team attended the Universal Dance Association (UDA) camp at the University of Mississippi in June 2024. At this camp, dancers spend four days learning new skills, improving technique, growing as a team, and learning new routines in various styles to perform on the last day of camp. The Chargers brought home hardware in several categories:

  • Home Routine – 1st Place in JH Division
  • Leadership Award – voted on by our fellow teams at camp
  • 36 Blue Superior Ribbons
  • Superior Trophy
  • St. Jude Spirit Stick – for writing the most St. Jude letters with alongside the Oxford High School Dance Team
  • 8 All-Americans – Anna Carlisle W., Camille S., Charlotte N., Collins G., Elizabeth E., Lydia B., Maren F., and Mary Mac F. were invited to participate in Disney's Thanksgiving Parade in Orlando, FL
  • Spirit Stick – all 4 days
  • Pin It Forward Recipient – Rylyn K. 
  • A bid to UDA NATIONALS
