OHS Chamber Choir Opens State Board of Education Meeting with National Anthem
Oxford, Mississippi — The Mississippi Department of Education recently selected Oxford High School’s chamber choir for the honor of performing the national anthem before the January Mississippi State Board of Education meeting.
As part of a new statewide initiative, a recording of the choir performance was played to open the meeting. Oxford High School was selected as the inaugural participant, marking a special occasion for the choir program.
The initiative, led by the Mississippi Department of Education’s Office of PreK–12 Arts Education, is designed to highlight outstanding music programs across the state. Dr. Hannah Ardrey, Oxford Middle School’s choir director, serves as a board member and the Advocacy Chair of the Mississippi Music Educators Association and helped support the development of the initiative.
Oxford High School is proud of the chamber choir and congratulates the students on this special opportunity to represent their school and community.
